HISTORICAL PERIOD BOOKLET PROJECT

1.     Investigate one historical period.

How did the people live?
Where did the live?
What clothes did they wear?
What interesting events happened in this period?
Are there any important people do you want to meet?

2.     Draw and write the information on a paper.

3.     Paint the paper with coffee and a Paint brush to make your booklet look old.

It started with the French Revolution. This period continues to the present.
The factories started, and they used steam engines to power machines.
Peasants moved to cities to work in the factories. This is the Industrial Revolution.

Steam trains and Steam boats. Cars and airplanes were invented 100 years ago.

MEDICINE
Vaccines, medicines and painkillers.

ANCIENT HISTORY

It started when people began to write.

There were important civilizations but the most important was the Roman Empire.

SOCIAL CLASSES
-         RICH PEOPLE: they lived in individual houses called domus. They could live in villas too.

-         POOR PEOPLE: They lived in apartment building called insulae. They worked for rich people.

-         SLAVES: They worked for rich people and servants. The rich people bought and sold slaves. They hadn’t got rights.

PREHISTORY

It started with the first human beings. They lived in caves 

and in tribes (small groups).

They were nomads, they changed their caves looking for 

food and they hunted to eat.

Their most important discovey was the fire. They used it to 

cook, heat or light.

When the learned to cultivate plants and raise animals, they

stopped being nomads and they started to build houses in 

simple villages.


They invented Wheel, carts and sailing boats. It helped us to

trade with other tribes.

-         ANCIENT HISTORY: It started when people started to write. They used Hieroglyphic writing.

-         THE MIDDLE AGES: This period started with the fall of the Roman Empire.

-         THE MODERN AGE: It started when Christopher Columbus’s arrival in America in 1492.

-         CONTEMPORARY HISTORY: It started with the French Revolution in 1789.

To years and centuries before the birth of Christ in year 1, we add B.C. (before Christ).
To year and centuries after year 1, we add A.D.

3.   BE AN ARCHAEOLOGIST
  Actividad: crea tu propio fósil.
Necesitas:
Arena o harina. Lo que tengas en casa.
Un recipiente a la medida del fósil que quieras hacer.
Objeto como un juguete chiquitito de un animal, tu mano, una flor, una hoja, una concha de la playa, piedras.

Pon la harina/arena en un recipiente, es mejor que esté un poquito húmeda. Pon en el recipiente el objeto que quieras que sea tu fósil, apretándolo contra la harina.
Dejar secar y levantar fósil.
Si quieres, hazte una foto con tu fósil y como si fueras un arqueólogo y puedes mandármela en un comunicado por alexia.
